A Perfect Local Night in Seoul: 3-Step Drinking & Food Course in Jongno

If you want to experience Seoul like a local, here’s a perfect 3-stop night course I recently enjoyed with my friends during our year-end gathering.

This route is ideal if you’re staying in Seoul and want to enjoy local food, drinks, and real Korean atmosphere — not tourist spots.

As someone who runs Seoul Homestay, local tours, and cooking classes, I often recommend places like these to my guests.

🥢 1st Stop: Janggun Gul Bossam (종로3가 굴보쌈 골목)

📍 Near Jongno 3-ga Station Exit 15

This area is a famous old oyster bossam alley with about 5 similar restaurants — honestly, any one is good.

What you get:

  • Oyster Bossam (boiled pork with fresh oysters)

  • Gamjatang (pork bone soup)

  • Spicy stir-fried squid

  • Various side dishes

Tip:
Arrive before 6:00 PM to get a seat easily.
Perfect place for a first round with friends.

🔥 2nd Stop: Dalmaji Plaza BBQ (달맞이광장바베큐)

📲 Reservation tip (very important):

  • Use the CatchTable app

  • Search “Dalmaji Plaza BBQ”

  • Make a reservation when 40–50 people are ahead

  • Move to the restaurant when about 10 people remain

Once you arrive, tell the counter staff you’re there and wait briefly — entry is usually quick.

What we ordered (highly recommended):

  1. Salt-grilled BBQ

  2. Handmade black pork sausage

  3. French fries

👉 All three were excellent.
This place is strongly recommended for BBQ lovers.

🐟 3rd Stop: Cham Golbaengi & Nogari (참골뱅이와노가리)

This is a true hidden gem.

Their semi-dried pollack (nogari) is one of the best in Seoul — easily top tier.

📍 Important:

  • Follow the map carefully

  • Seating is on the 2nd and 3rd floors

If you love classic Korean drinking snacks, this place is a must.

🍶 Final Thoughts

If you’re looking to:

  • Enjoy drinks with friends

  • Experience authentic Seoul nightlife

  • Discover places locals actually go

This 3-step course is a perfect choice.

If you’re staying at Seoul Homestay, joining a local tour, or interested in a Korean cooking class, I’m always happy to share more local tips.
