How to Get from Incheon Airport to Hwagok Station (Line 5) + Pickup Guide

This guide explains how to travel from Incheon International Airport to Hwagok Station (Seoul Subway Line 5) and how to meet Mario for pickup.

Step 1 – Take the AREX Train from Incheon Airport

1. Follow the signs for Airport Railroad (AREX) inside the airport.

2. Purchase your ticket at the vending machine (English available).

3. Board the AREX train.

⚠️ VERY IMPORTANT (Please Read!): Make sure to take the “ALL-STOP TRAIN” (Blue color). DO NOT take the “EXPRESS TRAIN” (Orange color).

• All-stop Train (Blue): Stops at Gimpo Airport/Magongnaru (Correct! ✅)

• Express Train (Orange): Goes directly to Seoul Station without stopping (Wrong! ❌)

Important:
As soon as you board the train, please send a message:
“I boarded the train at Incheon Airport.”

Step 2 – Transfer at Gimpo Airport

1. Get off at Gimpo Airport Station.

2. Transfer to Seoul Subway Line 5 (Purple Line).

3. Make sure the direction is toward Hanam Geomdan-san.

Step 3 – Travel to Hwagok Station

It takes about 14 minutes (5 stops).

• Gimpo Airport
• Songjeong
• Magok
• Balsan
• Ujangsan
• Hwagok

Tip:
At Gimpo Airport Station, try to board near position 8-4.
This makes it easier to reach the elevator at Hwagok Station.

Step 4 – Arrival at Hwagok Station & Elevator

As soon as you get off the train, please send this message:

“I just got off the subway at Hwagok Station.”

 

1. Walk toward Exit 1 or Exit 2.

2. After passing the ticket gates, go left toward the elevator signs.

3. Take the elevator to ground level.

After exiting, turn left and stand on the right side of the crosswalk.
That is the pickup location.

When you arrive at the pickup point, please send another message:

“I’m at the pickup location.”

This location does not allow parking for more than 5 minutes.
Please send a message when you arrive at Hwagok Station so Mario can depart from home at the correct time.
