My Story

Wojtek visited Mario House from Switzerland with his two children during their family trip to South Korea.

From our first conversations, I could see that he was a kind, thoughtful, and devoted father. He worked hard to give his children a wide variety of experiences during their trip, including Korean food, cultural activities, sightseeing, and a temple stay.

Traveling internationally with two children requires a lot of preparation, patience, and responsibility. Wojtek always carefully considered what his children would enjoy and how he could make their trip meaningful.

Watching him care for his children reminded me of myself as a father. He was attentive, gentle, and always interested in creating good memories for his family.

Before arriving in Seoul, Wojtek contacted me several times to ask about transportation, dinner, breakfast, the rooms, and a Korean cooking class.

He and his children traveled from Incheon Airport using the AREX airport train and Seoul Subway Line 5. I provided detailed directions and information so that their journey to Mario House would be as easy as possible.

For their family, I prepared the Bunk Bed Room and Single Room. The children were welcome at Mario House, and I wanted everyone to feel relaxed and comfortable during their stay.

Wojtek had asked whether dinner would be available on the evening of their arrival. He was especially interested in Korean dishes that his children could enjoy, so we discussed foods such as jajangmyeon and Korean pancakes.

I also explained that Mario House provides a simple self-service breakfast with items such as bread, jam, eggs, coffee, and other basic foods.

One morning, Wojtek and his children carried their breakfast upstairs and ate together on the rooftop.

It was different from the way most guests normally had breakfast, and I remember it as a peaceful family moment. Eating breakfast outdoors gave them another opportunity to enjoy the residential atmosphere of Seoul.

One of the main highlights of their stay was our Korean cooking class.

Wojtek wanted his children to experience Korean food not only by eating it but also by learning how it was prepared.

During the cooking class, we made several Korean dishes together, including:

  • Korean bulgogi
  • Seasoned spinach, known as sigeumchi namul
  • Seasoned soybean sprouts, known as kongnamul muchim

Everyone participated in preparing the ingredients and making the meal.

The children were able to see how common Korean side dishes are seasoned and served. They also learned how bulgogi is prepared with sliced meat, vegetables, and a sweet and savory Korean marinade.

The cooking class was not a formal lesson. It was a relaxed and enjoyable family experience in the Mario House kitchen.

We cooked, talked, tasted the food, and enjoyed the finished meal together.

Wojtek’s son especially loved Korean food.

He always ate very well and looked genuinely happy during the meals. As a host and someone who enjoys cooking for guests, it was very satisfying to see a child enjoy the food so enthusiastically.

One of his favorite Korean foods was kimchi.

He liked it so much that he repeatedly asked for more. I happily gave him plenty of kimchi whenever he wanted it.

Many international visitors find kimchi unfamiliar or too spicy at first, so I was pleasantly surprised to see how much he enjoyed it.

His interest in Korean food helped make our shared meals lively and memorable.

During their stay, I tried to provide the family with everything they needed. Whenever Wojtek asked for information or assistance, I did my best to help.

Traveling with children can sometimes create unexpected needs, and I wanted him to know that he could contact me whenever necessary.

In his Homestay.com review, Wojtek wrote that I was a helpful host and that I was always there whenever his family needed anything.

He also emphasized that children were welcome at Mario House and mentioned our cooking class as one of the special experiences of their stay.

After checking out from Mario House, Wojtek and his children planned to continue their Korean cultural journey by participating in a temple stay.

I thought this was a wonderful choice.

A temple stay can give children the opportunity to experience a quieter and more traditional side of Korean culture. It also showed how carefully Wojtek had planned the trip to include many different types of experiences.

He did not want his children to see only famous tourist attractions. He wanted them to experience Korean food, home life, transportation, local culture, and traditional places.

Hosting Wojtek and his children reminded me that a family homestay can offer something different from an ordinary hotel.

Children can stay in a home environment, eat homemade food, participate in cooking, meet people from another country, and experience everyday Korean life.

Parents can also receive practical help with transportation, meals, and local travel information.

Wojtek was a caring father with a warm personality. His dedication to his children was easy to see throughout their stay.

I was very happy to host his family and share Korean food and culture with them.

I sincerely hope that Wojtek and his children remain healthy, happy, and close as a family.

I also hope the children will remember their Korean cooking class, the rooftop breakfast, the kimchi they enjoyed, and the other experiences they shared with their father in Seoul.

Wojtek, thank you for choosing Mario House for your family trip and for leaving such a kind review.

You and your children will always be welcome to visit us again.

A Family Homestay in Seoul with Kids

Wojtek’s visit showed how Mario House can provide a comfortable and memorable family homestay in Seoul with kids.

Traveling with children can be very different from traveling alone. Families need comfortable rooms, easy transportation, suitable meals, laundry facilities, breakfast options, and a host who can respond when help is needed.

Mario House offers a home-style environment where parents and children can relax after sightseeing in Seoul.

The house is located near Seoul Subway Line 5, providing convenient transportation to central Seoul, Gimpo Airport, and other areas of the city.

Families can use the kitchen and shared living spaces, enjoy a self-service breakfast, and experience daily life in a residential Seoul neighborhood.

Children who are interested in Korean food may also enjoy joining a cooking experience.

Preparing bulgogi and simple Korean side dishes gives children a chance to learn about Korean culture through a practical and enjoyable activity.

They can touch the ingredients, help prepare the food, and eat the meal they made together.

This kind of experience can be especially meaningful for parents who want their children to learn something during an international trip.

Mario House welcomes considerate families who want more than ordinary accommodation and who are interested in Korean food, culture, and everyday life.

A Korean Cooking Class for the Whole Family

A Korean cooking class can be one of the most enjoyable activities for families visiting Seoul.

Unlike eating at a restaurant, cooking together allows guests to understand how Korean meals are prepared and how different side dishes are served together.

During Wojtek’s family cooking experience, we prepared bulgogi, seasoned spinach, and seasoned soybean sprouts.

Bulgogi is one of the most popular Korean dishes for international guests because it has a mild, sweet, and savory flavor.

Seasoned vegetable side dishes are also an important part of a traditional Korean meal. They are simple, healthy, and easy for children to help prepare.

After cooking, the family could sit together and enjoy the food they had made.

Shared cooking experiences create natural opportunities for conversation, laughter, and cultural exchange.

For families searching for a Seoul homestay with a Korean cooking class, Mario House offers a personal way to experience Korean home cooking.
